Lisa Curry’s career in elite sport spanned more than two decades, during which she competed in three Olympic Games, 2 World Championships and 3 Commonwealth Games, and was consistently ranked among the top swimmers in the world. Her sustained performance at the highest level reflects the discipline, commitment and consistency required to achieve long-term success.
Following her swimming career, Lisa continued to pursue high performance, returning to competition in outrigger canoeing and contributing to 4 x 72km World Championship wins and 1 Solo win in the 66km race. Alongside this, she has built a career as a speaker, author and health advocate, working with people from all backgrounds to improve their physical and mental wellbeing and support them to perform at their best.
Her experience extends beyond sport into leadership and community contribution, including her role as Chairman of the National Australia Day Council, where she was the first woman appointed to the position. She has been recognised with an MBE, OAM and AO for her service to sport and the community.
At WIRE, Lisa will explore how discipline, resilience and wellbeing underpin sustained performance, and how individuals can take an active role in shaping their future by the choices they make every day.
