Peter has spent almost a decade as Chief Economist at Bank of Queensland, following earlier roles at the Federal Treasury in Canberra and senior economics positions at Bankers Trust and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. At CBA, he also held a senior role in Group Strategy, contributing to broader business and market planning.

His work includes co-authoring reports on the Australian and Chinese financial systems that received significant attention both domestically and internationally, reflecting his ability to interpret complex economic issues in a way that resonates beyond specialist audiences.

As a child, Peter’s ambition was to play cricket for Australia, but a series of injuries and what he describes as ‘a complete lack of talent’ led him to economics instead.

At WIRE, Peter will provide a clear view of the economic factors influencing property, helping agents understand the conditions shaping the market and how these forces may evolve. His session will give attendees context to support more informed conversations, stronger client advice and more confident decision-making in a changing environment.
