Dr Rochelle Hurst is the National Manager, Education & Industry Engagement at AUSTRAC. Prior to her current role, Rochelle established the NSW Independent Casino Commission (NICC), following the recommendations of the Bergin Inquiry into Crown Resorts. Rochelle led the Office of the NICC until 2024. Rochelle has also held senior roles at the NSW Independent Liquor & Gaming Authority and Liquor & Gaming NSW, and has significant experience in stakeholder engagement and communications in contested and highly politicised policy areas. Rochelle joined the public sector in 2016, after working as a solicitor in private practice for a number of years. She also worked as an academic at the University of Wollongong (where she obtained her PhD in English Literature) and the University of Notre Dame. In 2023, Rochelle obtained her Masters of Public of Administration at the University of Sydney.
